Indirect Trophies

Conservation attempts are often driven by the desire to utilize wilderness - for hunting, hiking, bird-watching, camping, etc. To motivate conservation, we hence compromise the integrity of truly remote wilderness.

In the same vein of Aldo Leopold's commentary that "the camera industry is one of the few innocuous parasites on wild nature", these depictions of wild scenes in paint and pastel seek to inspire appreciation of wilderness while avoiding dilution of and damage to that wilderness.
